This 5-week long workshop is going to focus on the essentials of Photoshop, and it's best suited for beginners with limited knowledge of digital imaging. We'll start by looking at how to open, navigate and work with multiple images. Then we'll explore the Photoshop interface, quickly customizing it to take advantage of the tools we use most often. Together, we'll walk through the essentials of digital imaging, including bit depth, color space, file formats, and image size. Furthermore, we'll use the crop tool to straighten and transform photographs, as well as apply the retouching tools to remove distracting elements. We're also going to cover the three most essential aspects of Photoshop: layers, selections, and masking. We'll work with smart objects and smart filters and apply non-destructive adjustments, both globally and locally, to our images. We will explore shortcuts and basics of digital workflow to make the overall process as smooth as possible. By the end of this workshop, you'll be able to easily navigate and work with Photoshop, and on the way to start your first digital portfolio to showcase your photography.
